Strengthening Foundations: AHDI Board Reviews Constitution to Enhance Governance and Oversight
In a significant step toward strengthening its governance structures, the Board of Archie Hinchcliffe Disability Intervention (AHDI) convened on 11th February 2026 to review the organisation’s Constitution and Articles of Association. The meeting, supported by the Women and Girls Fund, aimed to enhance oversight and ensure greater efficiency and effectiveness in delivering AHDI’s core mission.
A Mission Anchored in Inclusion
AHDI is dedicated to empowering children with cerebral palsy and other allied conditions to reach their full potential. The organisation works to provide inclusive and quality education, accessible healthcare, and support services that promote holistic development and well-being. The constitutional review was therefore not merely a procedural exercise but a strategic effort to align governance practices with the organisation’s long-term vision and values.
Expert Guidance and Timely Context
The session was expertly guided by Mr. Daniel Libati, whose extensive knowledge and experience in governance and legal matters provided invaluable direction throughout the process. His insights helped the Board navigate complex governance considerations, ensuring the revised framework would be both legally sound and practically applicable.
The review was especially timely, coming just a week after a governance training session that deepened the Board’s understanding of and commitment to strong, accountable leadership. That training, also supported by the Women and Girls Fund, laid the groundwork for this critical exercise, equipping Board members with the tools and perspective needed to approach the review with clarity and purpose.
A Commitment to Continuous Improvement
This constitutional review reflects AHDI’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and to upholding the highest standards of governance in service of the communities it serves. By strengthening its internal structures, the Board is ensuring that the organisation remains well-positioned to deliver on its mission effectively and sustainably.
As AHDI moves forward, this governance work will serve as a solid foundation for future growth, accountability, and impact. The organisation remains steadfast in its belief that strong leadership and sound governance are essential to empowering children with disabilities to reach their full potential.
