FAWEMA and MHRRC Launch Capacity Building for WGLOs in Malawi

FAWEMA and MHRRC Launch Capacity Building for WGLOs in Malawi

Today, the Malawi Human Rights Resource Centre (MHRRC) commenced a one-week training in Advocacy and Proposal Development for Women and Girls-Led Organizations, with support from Forum for African Women Educationalists in Malawi – fawema Ecorys UK, and Women & Girls Fund.
The training aims to strengthen the capacity of women and girls-led organizations to effectively advocate for policies and laws that promote gender equality and women’s rights, while also equipping them with the skills to design and write competitive, award-winning proposals.
Speaking during the opening session, the Executive Director of FAWEMA emphasized that the training seeks to empower women and girls to actively engage in policy advocacy and support the implementation of laws that address gender inequality. He further highlighted that the Proposal Development component, together with the Women and Girls Fund initiative, is designed to increase access to funding opportunities for women and girls-led organizations, particularly in the current shrinking resource environment.
Through this initiative, participating organizations will gain practical knowledge and tools to influence change, mobilize resources, and strengthen their contribution to advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls across Malawi.
