Yesterday,13th May 2026, the National Association of Business Women (NABW) successfully conducted a workshop on the development and validation of a Transparency Scorecard for Gender-Responsive Public Procurement (GRPP) Monitoring at Malawi Sun Hotel in Blantyre.
The workshop brought together procurement officials from public institutions, including parastatals and local councils, to collaboratively design and validate practical indicators that will strengthen transparency, accountability, and inclusion within public procurement systems.
The objectives of the workshop were to:
* Design a standardized transparency scorecard for GRPP monitoring
* Engage stakeholders in co-creating and validating scorecard indicators
* Strengthen awareness and capacity of procurement officers on GRPP transparency
* Produce and disseminate one comprehensive scorecard
The validated scorecard is expected to support and reach at least 200 procurement officers across Malawi, contributing to more transparent, inclusive, and gender-responsive procurement practices.
This activity is part of NABW’s ongoing advocacy under the project “Enhancing Gender-Inclusive Public Procurement and Open Contracting in Malawi.” with support from Women and Girls Fund financed by Scottish Government.
